The most adjustable bracket is not automatically the most useful one. Start with where you sit, whether the TV needs to face another area and how often you expect to move it.
Fixed: one planned viewing position
A fixed mount suits a room where the screen can face the main seats without routine adjustment. Before choosing a close-to-wall arrangement, plan access to plugs and any equipment behind the TV. Check the space the specific TV requires rather than assuming the smallest gap is best.
Tilting: change the screen angle
A tilt mount can help when the screen angle needs a small adjustment. It does not change the wall height of the installation. If the screen is uncomfortable because it is far above your sightline, tilting may not solve the underlying placement issue.
Full-motion: serve more than one position
An articulating mount may be useful for a corner, an open-plan room or a screen viewed from different seats. Think through where the TV parks and where it extends. Note shelves, a mantel, curtains and walking paths that could conflict with the movement.
Manufacturer specifications are product-specific: for example, the SANUS VLF728 product page identifies that model’s capabilities. Verify the exact bracket, rather than assigning one movement range to all full-motion mounts.
